The Book by Ronald Suny Won the Prestigious Wayne S. Vucinich Book Prize

The book by Prof. Ronald Grigor Suny (Head of the International Research Project "Comparative Historical Studies of Empire and Nationalism") “They Can Live in the Desert but Nowhere Else”: A History of the Armenian Genocide" has won the Wayne S. Vucinich Book Prize.

Established in 1983, the Wayne S. Vucinich Book Prize, sponsored by the Association for Slavic Studies, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) and the Stanford University Center for Russian and East European Studies, is awarded annually for the most important contribution to Russian, Eurasian, and East European studies in any discipline of the humanities or social sciences published in English in the United States in the previous calendar year. Wayne S. Vucinich (June 23, 1913 – April 21, 2005) was an American historian and professor and a founding father of Russian, Slavic, East European and Byzantine scholarship after World War II. He spent his academic career at Stanford University.
