A New Summer School at the Department of History

The Department of History of the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg presents a new summer school: "The Topography of Imperial Power: the Political Space of St. Petersburg." The summer school will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia from September 8 to 29, 2015

It is designed for students of social sciences and humanities. The curriculum will include Russian language courses for foreign students, presentations, workshops and master classes, as well as a special cultural program in the city. The summer school welcomes students from all German universities. Admission to the school is also open to students of the St. Petersburg campus on a competitive basis. The summer school has been made possible by the partnership between Department of History of HSE in St. Petersburg and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) which was started in 2014 with the opening of the position of the long-term DAAD associate professor at the Department of History HSE in St. Petersburg. The school will be directed by Dietmar Wulff, the DAAD associate professor at the Department of History HSE in St. Petersburg. DAAD will provide up to 15 scholarships for participants from German universities. Students from German universities are eligible to apply for DAAD scholarship that will cover the participation in the summer school.
