History postdocs at HSE St Petersburg

The Higher School of Economics Centre for Historical Research in St. Petersburg, Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of history (application deadline 15 March 2017)

Successful candidates will pursue their own research in parallel with working on Centre for Historical Research’ projects in two broad areas:

-imperial transformations and break up of empires in the region of Northern Eurasia,

-comparative research on political imagination of empires and nationalism.

-The Centre offers access to its seminars and Richard Stites Memorial Library collections.

Requirements:

-a Ph. D. from an international research university in the field of History;

-a strong background in theories of empire and nationalism; 

-ability to work in a team,

-fluent English.

HSE offers a competitive salary and a standard medical insurance. The appointment is normally made for one year initially starting September 2017 with possibility of extension.
