The workshop will be supported by the Frederick Paulsen Foundation. Within the framework of the seminar program, the London School of Economics and the National Research University Higher School of Economics will be able to bring together the most promising young historians of Imperial Russia.

The Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREES) is pleased to announce that on May 26, 2017, the Regents of the University of Michigan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on its behalf with the National Research University Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg (HSE). The purpose of the MOU is to promote cooperation in history, sociology, political science, anthropology, and other social sciences and humanities units involved in academic research between CREES and the HSE Center for Historical Research.

Last weekend one of the Research Fellows at the HSE St Petersburg’s Centre for Historical Research, Matthias Battis, who joined the CHR in 2016, had the privilege of participating in Oxford University’s degree ceremony at the city’s Sheldonian theatre, the university’s principle assembly room.
