Merry Christmas and Very Happy New Year!

On behalf of the Department of History and Center for Historical Research of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg, it is my great pleasure to wish you Merry Christmas and Very Happy New Year!

This year the Department of History expanded its international activities in terms of organization of seminars, conferences and summer schools   as well as visiting professors program. We continued our work in the international research project  “Comparative Historical Studies of Empire and Nationalism” directed by Ronald Suny and continued our collaboration with DAAD on the basis of the DAAD long-term professorship at the department. We opened a new international Master of Arts program “Usable Pasts” directed by Julia Lajus. The contribution of our international partners has proved crucial for this expansion. We are very much looking forward to working with you and to welcoming you   at the Department of History and Center for Historical Research in the New Year of 2016!
