The project of the Center for Youth Studies about the study of youth in the North Caucasus region is supported by the Russian Science Foundation
The Russian Science Foundation will support the three-year research of the CYS: «Sustainability and creative potential of youth in the North Caucasus region in the context of educational and labor migration».
The study will explore what determines the sustainability of the young people of the North Caucasus region in modern conditions and how their creative potential contributes to increasing the attractiveness of the region. Among the locations are 5 cities: Nalchik, Pyatigorsk, Stavropol, Vladikavkaz and Cherkessk.
The proposed research will be implemented in the mixed method research paradigm, combining quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and analysis:
- theoretical analysis,
- student survey,
- qualitative biographical interviews with university students, young specialists, young entrepreneurs (under 35 years old),
- expert interviews with representatives of youth policy, government agencies associated with the development of tourism and the brand of the region, university employees (educational offices, social departments, heads of student organizations),
- study of successful cases of regional youth development in the context of educational and labor migration,
- mapping of creative industries and tourism clusters.
