New craftsmen, new disciples. CYS investigates the сraft market of Saint-Petersburg
As part of the initial project, the Center is focusing on studying new formats of craft trainings. Researchers interview young craftsmen from Saint-Petersburg and their students who participate in various master classes, courses and schools. Sociologists are already interviewing potters and ceramists, tanners, jewelers, woodworkers and their students, visitors to candle-making courses and many others.
The title of the study: "New craftsmen and new disciples in the craft economy: prosumerism as a phenomenon of youth daily culture".
- The purpose of the scientific research: to analyze the formation of the phenomenon of prosumerism based on the master-student interaction and manual production of an authentic product among modern urban youth in the craft economy.
- The project coordinator is Yana Krupets.
- The main project method is a leitmotiv biographical interview with craftsmen and their students.
- It is planned to conduct 50 qualitative interviews in the project.
The researchers are dealing with the following tasks: to describe the formats of the proposed forms of non-formal education within the framework of the craftr creative market, to reconstruct the ideas about skills, abilities and capabilities of their transmission, how to broadcast and apply of these skills in a modern society. Also, to describe the biographical projects of masters offering training services, etc.
