HSE Student Accepted into European University Institute
Second year student in the programme 'Applied and Interdisciplinary History: Usable Pasts', Augusto Castanho da Maia Petter, has been admitted to the European University Institute Doctoral Programme in the Department of History and Civilization (Florence).
Augusto has been awarded the prestigious Jacob Burckhardt Doctoral Fellowship in History and Civilization. His doctoral research proposal, entitled “D. Pedro II’s visit to Europe in 1876: power, knowledge, and identity”, will continue the research he began while on his master programme at the Higher School of Economics Saint-Petersburg.
There is a highly competitive selection process based on several criteria: academic background, quality of the proposal, potential supervisors, and language abilities, all of which our student met.
