Course Syllabus

Abstract

This course aims at providing guidance in writing MA dissertations. The Research seminar strengthens research skills and introduces students to diverse methodologies in history and anthropology. During the first year, this research seminar teaches students basic aspects of a historian’s and anthropologist's craft. The course works as a workshop and includes: 1) Seminars on major methods; 2) a short mini-course on Academic Rhetoric; 3) joined seminars with students of the second years; 4) project sessions discussing provisional MA theses.
