Tatiana Borisova Gave a Lectire in the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History

On October 17, Tatiana Borisova was invited by the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History (Frankfurt Am Mein) to give a lecture "Power Politics and the Problem of the Originality of Russian Law in Late Imperial Russia"

The paper examines two ways in which the idea of the “originality” of Russian law was exploited by elites in the late imperial period. Originality was understood as “unlike western Europe” Russia had its own very specific legal path; the monarch was the living law in contrast to western institutionalization of representation and separation of powers.

Partnership with the world leading Center for European Legal History will be continued, for instance the conference "Global Legal History" with Deutsches Historisches Institute in Moscow. As well as this collective researches are planned as further partnership.
