5 Parks in Moscow with Free Ski Classes

67 cross-country skiing trails were opened in parks under the jurisdiction of the Moscow Department of Culture. You can learn how to ski or improve your skills at special classes in the city parks for free. These classes are held in groups and conducted by professional instructors who are trained to work with both adults and children. During training, they will show the basic techniques of classic and skating skiing, help improve technique, introduce safety rules and explain how to correctly select ski equipment. Prospective participants will be required to pre-register by phone or online.

Vorontsovskiy Park

In the Vorontsovskiy Park, skiing is taught for adults and children over six years old. Beginners will be offered to master the basic skills. Coaches will show them different riding techniques, teach them to stand and balance. And for experienced skiers, coaches will help them to learn new tricks and hone their skills. Ski equipment can be rented from the coach by prior arrangement.

Olonetsky Proyezd

Group trainings for adults are held in the park along Olonetsky Proyezd. Here you can learn classic skiing and get practical tips to make skiing easy. Ski equipment must be brought with you.

Dzhamgarovsky Park

Beginners will be taught to ski at the Ski Club in the park near the Dzhamgarovsky Pond. They organize group training sessions for sports enthusiasts over the age of 18. There is no rental of ski equipment in the club, equipment for classes must be brought with you.

Fili Park

Group classes in the Fili Park are suitable for experienced skiers and those who are planning to start cross-country skiing for the first time. Adults and children over 12 can join. Before each lesson, the coach warms up all muscle groups and demonstrates basic skiing techniques, and then goes to the ski track with the participants. Not far from the class address, there is a winter equipment rental point where you can pick up suitable skis.

Khodynskoe Pole Park

In the Khodynskoye Pole park, skiing is taught to everyone aged 18 to 55 years. At the time of arrival, participants are provided with ski equipment free of charge.
