Moscow Museum Week: Free Visit to Moscow Museums
What is Moscow Museum Week?
Previously, it was possible to visit Moscow museums for free only on the open day. However, in 2019, the Moscow Museum Week program was initiated to make cultural institutions more accessible. The program is applied for the entire third week of every month. Within seven days, exhibition venues – program participants – will receive visitors for free on certain days, each has its own.
According to Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalya Sergunina, in 2022, more than 1.3 million citizens and tourists visited exhibitions as part of the Moscow Museum Week. The museum-preserves “Tsaritsyno” and “Kolomenskoye”, the Museum of Cosmonautics, the Museum of Moscow, and the State Darwin Museum received the most visitors. The new season of the project begins right after the New Year holidays.
How to join the Moscow Museum Week program?
To visit a certain museum in Moscow for free, do not forget to get a free e-ticket in advance on the official website of the museum or the Moscow Mayor's Office's official website mos.ru.
