Canva.com – The Place Where Design Begins

Canva.com – The Place Where Design Begins

I bet each of you has to do at least one presentation per semester for the class. It may be pretty hard to capture your audience's attention without an eye-catching, well-designed presentation. Thus, it should be something more than just slides with bullets, pictures and white-colored background. Most websites and tools such as PowerPoint, Google Slides and Keynote provide us with boring templates with a limited number of design options.

The tool I want to recommend you is convenient not only for creating presentations but also for a wide range of business-related publications, like resumes, newsletters, business cards, media kits, brochures and infographics. Canva is an online platform with an opportunity to invite several users to collaborate on designs simultaneously. It is one of the easiest ways of building you own unique design or use the given ones.

There are hundreds of professional design layouts and templates for presentations which are updated on a regular basis and divided into thematic sections e.g. business, marketing, creativeness, simplicity and so on. It has everything you need for all tastes: millions of free images, hundreds of fonts and photo filters.

Canva offers both free version and Canva Pro version with more features included. The later costs $12.95 per month (or $9.95 per month when you pay annually). You can also try this version free for 14 days. However, I personally do not see any need in getting a full version unless you use the tool for business purposes.

All in all, it is the simplest and most convenient free tool I’ve tried so far which is commonly used and appreciated all over the globe. It takes 30 seconds to join Canva via Gmail or Facebook account and voilà.
