The Ideal Place for a Vacation: the Altai Mountains
I believe that nowadays, with the complicated working rhythm of life, it is necessary not to forget about one's own rest and dream of travelling. Last academic year was not easy, and it was the Altai Mountains that helped me to relax and get in the mood for the new one. I hope that this article will be of interest to many who are looking for new experiences.
This summer I went on a trip to the Altai Mountains. Nowadays, Altai is a very developed place for recreation, and the influx of tourists increases every year. The most popular season is from June to September, as the weather is favorable for various activities, many attractions and tourist bases are open. Since I only come here in the summer, I always notice a large number of tourists. However, this is a great opportunity to make new acquaintances!
My little guide will tell you about exciting adventures on cable cars at the resort «Manzherok», a recreation center «Zolotyi peski» (Golden Sands), and I will also tell a couple of interesting landscape places of this region.
Cable Cars of Manzherok Resort
This place is a combination of modern comfortable living and wildlife enjoyment. ‘It has everything for a wholesome family holiday, a romantic trip or a secluded spiritual journey’ they write on the official website. The resort includes five-star, three-star hotels, villas, congress halls, spa complexes, entertainment parks, restaurants and bars, ski infrastructure, eco-trails, bike parks and much more! It's not the first time I've come here, and this time I'm going to show you the exciting parts of the resort (scroll through the photos!).
The first and most exciting is the cable cars, and there are 6 of them in the resort. In winter, cable cars give access to the ski slopes and allow you to enjoy the winter scenery of the mountains. «Hranitel` Bol`shogo Altaya» (The Guardian of Great Altai, if translated into English). This summer I took two cable car rides with my family. One cable car has closed cabins, the second one was open. You must buy a ticket at the ticket office, but the service only includes a one-time ascent/descent on the cable cars. But I will warn you that the tickets are pretty expensive.
The emotions are unforgettable, and no photos can convey these sensations of height! After getting up the very high mountain on the cable car, we hiked up the trail and there were signposts where to go so we didn't get lost. However, the path is quite hard as we had to walk up the mountain. Wear comfortable trainers, clothes and take plenty of water! On the eco-trail you will find a house with souvenirs, delicious food and drinks, so you can take a break and then continue on your journey through the mountains. After all the walking, we walked back down to the resort and enjoyed some ice cream as there were little ice cream vans with it.
Recreation Center «Zolotyi peski»
As we were travelling for a couple of days this time, it was necessary to have somewhere to sleep. There are a lot of recreation centers in the Altai Mountains, and this time my mother found a very comfortable one. This place is a large area with a three-storey three-star hotel and many two-storey houses. There is also space for tents. We stayed at the hotel and it had very comfortable rooms with two bedrooms, a bath and a spacious outdoor terrace. There was a restaurant in the hotel. The price of each room includes a full breakfast from 9.00 to 11.00. We organized lunch and dinner ourselves in the gazebos in the hotel grounds. In such an environment, the most delicious thing is shashlik and grilled vegetables.
The territory also has playgrounds for children and a swimming pool. My favorite thing is to go to the swing in the evening and look at the Katun River (it is very cold, and it was unreal for me to swim in it)
You can book a room in the hotel or a lodge by calling the phone number that is listed on the official website. However, the place is now under reconstruction until spring. It is best to book as far in advance as possible, as there is a very large influx of tourists in the Altai Mountains now!
This article is about rest and travel, so I thought about how important it is to allow yourself to rest. That’s why I would like to say here a few words about our mental health as students, as it is very important for us to combine business with pleasure.
Exams at university, passing tests or writing coursework are always stressful, especially if you need to hurry. In such a rush, we forget to take time for ourselves - to rest, so that the brain can reboot. I know from my own experience - when there are a lot of deadlines, you don’t want to be distracted, and then I often tell myself that I don’t deserve to rest yet, because I need to finish the work. Of course, this may be correct, but the most unpleasant thing is the confusion in your head from such deadlines. Rest is not just a break from studying, it is a necessity for maintaining health. And when we take little breaks between studying, we invest in our health and mind.
It will be very good when the break between studies is walks and trips (let me remind you that there is the Altai Mountains), because this is not only maintaining health, but also a set of new emotions that will give strength to study further. I didn't say anything new, but I'd like to leave this little reminder here.
In conclusion there is a thesis from me - A holiday in the mountains is the best investment in yourself. Here everyone will find a holiday for themselves - some people like to sit on the river bank and eat delicious food, looking at the beautiful landscape (like me), while others prefer active adventures. Here you can find everything to your liking.
