Course Syllabus

Abstract

Students will explore the types and fundamentals of databases, Relational Algebra and Entity Relationship modelling. We will cover data modelling and Structured Query Language (SELECT, FROM, WHERE, JOIN, logical operators, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, sub-queries, HAVING, LIMIT etc.). Students will learn how to design a complex domain area and implement databases. Basics of BI and dashboard designs will be covered in this course: students will explore the types and history of dashboards, rules and mistakes in creating dashboards. Moreover, the course will cover an introduction to software programs for data visualisation.
