Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course is aimed at students who are pursuing a career of analysts, data scientists and other IT-oriented positions. The scope of the course is limited to relational databases. Upon finishing this course students should be familiar with relational database concept, be able to write simple/advanced SQL queries and apply the knowledge in the field of BI.

  • To develop practical skills in writing SQL queries for data retrieval and manipula- tion.
  • To familiarize students with database design and normalization concepts.
  • To prepare students for analytical and professional use of SQL in real-world projects.

  • Understand the architecture and functionality of relational DBMS.
  • Write efficient SQL queries using SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, and subqueries.
  • Perform data modification operations (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE).

  • Use SQL for analytical tasks and reporting.
  • Use basic window functions for advanced queries.
