In December, a delegation from HSE University, led by Rector Nikita Anisimov, visited Japan to strengthen educational and scientific cooperation. Representatives from HSE University met with the leaders of prominent institutions in Russian studies, including Tokai University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Hosei University, and Keio University. The visit, initiated at the invitation of the Japanese Ambassador to Russia, marked the first official visit by a delegation from a Russian university to Japan since 2022.

A delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg headed by Director Anna Tyshetskaya has paid a working visit to Oman. Annually, HSE University provides students of Asian and African Studies with opportunities to participate in mobility programmes in the countries of studied languages. Long-term academic mobility helps not only upgrade language proficiency but also dive into a completely different culture and understand it from the inside. Tatiana Shlychkova, student of the Department of Chinese, Southeast and South Asian Research, spent her fourth year of studies in Shanghai, having passed the selection to one of the most high-ranking universities in China—the Fudan University. The scholarship covered tuition and accommodation. In addition, Tatiana received a monthly allowance for personal expenses.

Andrey Vovk, 4th-year student of the Bachelor's programme 'Asian and African Studies', undertook an internship on the Arabic language at the language centre 'Ahlan World' in Cairo. He studied the literary and spoken Arabic language as well as the peculiarities of the Egyptian dialect. Earlier, the student took part in the Summer School at the National University of Uzbekistan.

Victoria Shirnina is a student of the Bachelor's programme 'Asian and African Studies' at HSE University-St Petersburg.
