Today's youth gets much attention from sociologists; however, comprehensive understanding and an open scientific discussion of what is happening to the young people in the post-Soviet space are still a rarity. One of the conference’s aims is to build a link between empirical research and theoretical and methodological discussions on youth. This will help to conceptualize the post-Soviet youth as an active subject, whose formation takes place in the context of global processes and in a particular historical and political situation as well. The conference also aims to facilitate the understanding of the transformations and transitions of the post-Soviet youth, their identities, lifestyles, practices of moving, engagement, adjustment, and resistance to modern conditions.

The goal of the conference is to discuss the problems and peculiarities of contemporary young people, as well as various experiences of youth research in Europe and in Post-Soviet countries in particular. The range of the conference topics is broad and includes:

·       Youth cultures, subcultures, and solidarities;

·       Youth at labour market;

·       Youth and education;

·       Youth consumption and lifestyles;

·       Youth and Memory;

·       Youth and Social Control;

·       Civic engagement and civic identity of young people;

·       Youth politics;

·       Youth and media space;

·       Sexuality, body, and gender in youth studies;

·       Youth in global world: migrations and mobilities;

·       Urban and rural youth;

·       Youth and generations.

Moreover, during the conference we will discuss the theory and methodology of youth studies and, in particular, the action and participatory research methods.
