Guest lecture by the Managing Director of JSC "Investment Company LMS": "Profession of a financier"

On February 19, the Higher School of Economics hosted a lecture entitled "The Profession of a Financier" by Alexander Kleshchev, Managing Director and Member of the Board of Directors of JSC Investment Company LMS. The speaker spoke about working in the field of asset management, strategic development and trading in financial markets, drawing on his more than 20 years of experience.

During the lecture, Alexander Kleshchev examined the key aspects of the profession of a financier, possible career paths and modern challenges associated with digitalization and the development of artificial intelligence. He dwelt in detail on various areas of the financial sector, including corporate finance, banking, investments, consulting and fintech. Particular attention was paid to the impact of crises and sanctions on the Russian financial market, as well as new technologies such as digital financial assets and algorithmic trading.

One of the central elements of the lecture was a discussion of a case study on choosing a strategy for an investment company, where students were able to apply financial analysis in practice. The participants also took part in an interactive vote on the future of the profession in the context of automation. The speaker emphasized the importance of continuous learning, development of strategic thinking, and combination of technical and analytical skills.

The meeting ended with practical assignments: students made personal career plans and proposed strategies for adaptation to the rapidly changing financial landscape.

The lecture attracted keen interest from the audience and became an excellent opportunity for HSE students to gain a deeper understanding of the specifics of working in finance and receive valuable advice from an experienced professional.
