Introducing our talents!

Finance Department lecturers Olga Alekseyeva and Kasiet Kambaralieva have been included in the HSE Academic Personnel Reserve. Kasiet Kambaralieva has been professionally involved with HSE St. Petersburg for over seven years: Kasiet first studied for a bachelor's degree, then for a master's degree, and two years ago she decided to pursue an academic career, entered graduate school, and now teaches at the Finance Department. Kasiet believes that participating in the Academic Development Program will strengthen this connection, as the opportunities provided by the program will allow her to take a qualitative step in developing her professional activities, as well as contribute to the development of the academic environment of our university. In the near future, Kasiet plans to continue developing her academic career, defend her PhD dissertation, and implement ideas that could be useful for the development of our university and society as a whole. Olga Alekseyeva is currently writing her PhD dissertation on the structure of boards of directors. Olga notes that she enjoys the research process itself: the process of immersion in problems, attempts to find the optimal solution, testing new methods. Olga is also working on the implementation of a project to conduct internships for potential future HSE teachers to develop their teaching skills and experience of interacting with the audience. As part of this project, promising students will be able to gain the necessary knowledge to improve the quality of teaching, as well as try themselves as teachers in some courses. In the coming year, Olga plans to actively improve her teaching skills by participating in advanced training programs, as well as take part in events of the personnel reserve. The project within the personnel reserve provides for an international online seminar "ESG and Sustainable Finance", which will bring together young scientists and experts to exchange experiences and discuss current challenges of sustainable development. The seminar will contribute to regular international cooperation and the search for new solutions in the field of ESG. Olga is also currently working on research in several promising areas, including joint work with B.A. Lodyagin, a lecturer at the Department of Finance, on the influence of institutional factors on the volume of green bond issues in different countries, and is also working on her PhD thesis on the influence of corporate governance on IPO underpricing.
