The Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy held it’s first ‘work in progress’ seminar on December 23rd 2015. The seminar addressed one of the main challenges facing both developed and emerging economies – namely, that of ageing populations. Three promising working papers were presented covering the interaction between mental health and social support; the role of social capital in healthy ageing; and the problems of using subjective health measures in health related research.

The new HSE International Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy (CHEMP) is seeking to recruit a number of Masters (or advanced Bachelors) students to work or undertake study/research experience within the activities of the research centre.
On June 26, the HSE Academic Council approved the opening of two new international laboratories. Specifically, the St. Petersburg School of Economics and Management will gain a laboratory for the study of healthcare economics, management, and policy, as well as a laboratory for game theory and decision-making. The labs' academic supervisors will be renowned international scholars.
