The Center for Historical Research co-organized with the Journal Ab Imperio and Tyumen State University a summer school “Russian Empire/Soviet Union through the Lens of Global and New Imperial Histories”

Summer school “Russian Empire/Soviet Union through the Lens of Global and New Imperial Histories” in Tyumen

Alexander Semyonov taught at the school together with Ilya Gerasimov (Ab Imperio), Marina Mogilner (Ab Imperio and University of Illinois at Chicago), Sergey Glebov (Smith College and Ab Imperio), and Sebastian Conrad (Free University in Berlin). The school included doctoral students from the International Joint Doctoral Program “Global Histories of Empire” of the University of Turin and Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg and Moscow) and MA history students from Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg as well as graduate students and junior faculty from Russian, European and North American universities.
