The Centre for Historical Research received a grant from The “Fund of Boris N. Yeltsin
The “Fund of the First Russian President Boris N. Yeltsin” generously awarded a grant to the Centre for Historical Research to hold a research project on diaries of Teimuraz Georgievich Stepanov-Mamaladze.
About the project.
The project proposes to publish the historical source, namely the diaries and working notes of Teimuraz Georgievich Stepanov-Mamaladze. He was the former personal assistant of Eduard Amvrosiyevich Shevardnadze – the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. A dedicated research team will work on providing detailed commentaries to this source and on its introduction into scholarly activities.
These historical documents have never been published and their location remained unknown even by E. A. Shevardnadze himself. The Steanov-Mamaladze's diaries raise interest not only because they can explain the ways the key decisions were made in the USSR Foreign Policy throughout its last six years of its existence, but they can also show the same processes from a different perspective. The work is planned to be submitted for publication in September (October) 2015.
