LETH participates the research network on history, technology and Europe “Tensions of Europe” actively.

Fellows of the Laboratory actively participate the activities of the international research network “Tensions of Europe” created in 1999 to support research in the history of technology and related disciplines in Europe and beyond.

LETH participates the research network on history, technology and Europe “Tensions of Europe” actively.

In 2014 the members of the networks decided on developing a new umbrella project devoted to the history of technology in the age of social, political, economic, cultural and other global challenges. The LEHT actively participates in the discussions within the network to work out a smaller international project on the history of natural resources, environment and technologies in the age of crises.
The LEHT is part of two successful applications for network funding supported in July 2018. The Danish Research Council supported the application of the University of Aarhus “Challenging Europe: Technology, Environment and the Quest for Resource Security (EurReS)” and the Dutch Humanities Research Council supported the application of the University of Eindhoven “Global Resources and Sustainability of European modernization, 1820-2020 (GREASE)”.
The money will enable the participants to organize a series of workshops and seminars during 2018-2020, including one or two workshops at the LETH. The cooperation aims at international research, publishing, and working on prospective research applications for funding.
