Social computing around us: participants of the Research Group at the International Student Conference

On the 2-3rd of February the international student conference was held in Higher School of Economics in Saint-Petersburg. It gathered many young researchers from Russia, as well as from near abroad. Members of the Research Group presented their results at the “Social Informatics: Internet Research, Social Media, Computer Games etc.” section.

Training on Machine Learning at HSE

On January 21 and 28 were held the first two training sessions on machine learning at HSE St. Petersburg. The event was organized by the members of community “Open Data Science”, who also held regular trainings in Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Odessa. The event was open to anyone interested and pre-registered.

First seminar of Research Group "Machine Learning and Social Computing": trajectories of development and research of online games

On January 21 the first adjusting seminar of Research Group "Machine Learning and Social Computing" took a place. Current plans and the main ideas about future work were discussed; design and some results of researches on social algorithms in online games and eSports were presented.

In December 2016 participants of our Research Group "Machine Learning and Social Computing", with the assistance of Laboratory of Sociology in Education and Science and minor in Data Science, have visited Cologne on the GESIS Computational Social Science Winter Symposium.
