54th Congress of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA)

Leonid Limonov took part in the 54th Congress of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA), held in Saint Petersburg.

Leonid Limonov took part in the 54th Congress of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA), held in Saint Petersburg.  Limonov presented two reports, organized a special section ‘Spatial Development of Russia: Does Geography Matter?’, and moderated two sessions of the section. Professor Limonov was awarded a vote of special gratitude by the organizing committee. The 54th Congress of the European Regional Science Association is a significant event in world science and for Russia as a whole. Leading federal and international media as well as the global research community supported the event. Over 900 leading experts in regional research of West, Central and Eastern Europe, the USA, Canada, South America, Australia, South-Eastern Asia took part in the congress. The participants included scientists, politicians, specialists, officials, and businessmen. The theme of the congress was ‘Regional Development and Globalization: Best Practices’. This event is part of the Russia-EU Year of Science.

The programme of the Congress highlighted current trends in regional policy, including resource corporations, and presented the past and present spatial development of St. Petersburg.
