The Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management was established in 2014. It is part of the School of Economics and Management at HSE St. Petersburg, a ‘big faculty’ that brings together economists and management specialists.
Teachers in the department support both the Bachelor’s programme in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the Master’s programme in Strategic Supply Chain Management.

IGOR BERNADSKII – THE MATRICULANT OF MASTER’S PROGRAM «STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF LOGISTICS»
Mr. Bernadskii is the 4th year student of bachelor’s program «Logistics and Supply Chain Management». At the moment, he is studying, working and is going to enroll in master’s program «Strategic Management of Logistics».
Mr. Bernadskii, where do you work?
Now I am the junior specialist of distribution department in Baltika Breweries (Part of Carlsberg Group). My work is connected with analytics of ongoing business-processes in distribution sphere and suggesting proposals for their optimization, as well as distributive plan indicators controlling. I would also like to say that work that I am enrolled in is realized in terms of various projects, that gives a chance to apply all gained during the time of studying in HSE St.-Petersburg knowledge by solving a stated problem using variety of approaches.
What milestones in life do you set for yourself, what do you strive for?
For me, the most important is the maximum of independence, so the work that requires unusual and creative approaches application is at the first place. Due to this fact I seek for the continuous self-improvement, not only in narrow professional sphere as all innovations in science and application sphere are being made on the joint of disciplines.
Why do you chose to enroll in master’s program «Strategic Management of Logistics», what do you expect from studying on this program?
I believe that it is necessary to understand the whole of your professional sphere not only on operative, but also on tactical and strategic levels, where exactly the management of departments, divisions, companies take place. Master’s program gives a good start for career development in this way, introducing to knowledge and skills needed for strategic and tactic planning of business, which will definitely be useful in practice. I have already understood that knowledge, gained during the four years of studying here are really important and applicable in practice, so I have no doubt in masters’s dgree
