The summary of the XV Conference 'Logistics: Actual Development Trends'

The conference was organized by HSE (Scientific Laboratory of Logistics Research, Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management) and the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.

The Conference was held with the assistance of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport, Transport Specialists Union - Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the North-West Regional Office of the Russian Transport Academy. It was attended by the representatives of the following countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Union Of Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Finland, and Estonia.

The conference lasted two days. Over 150 people (more than 56 Ph.D) took part. The conference saw the participation of representatives from more than 30 Russian universities.

In the first section, presentations on 'Logistics: actual development trends' (working language - Russian) were delivered. The working language of the second section 'Logistics: International Cooperation, Problems and Solution' was English. Several interantional speakers participated in the discussion and made their reports.

On April 8, the Round table 'Logistics, supply chain management, organization of transportation: personnel problems' was held. The problems of education and, in particular, the future development of the educational programme in Logistics and Supply Chain Management were discussed. The entrepreneurs and representatives of city enterprises were invited to participate in the round table.

The following areas were discussed:

  • the problems and prospects of development of  logistics theory and methodology and SCM;
  • the problems of business-informatics and communication technologies;
  • the problems of transport logistics;
  • the problems of logistics warehousing and inventory management.

The proceedings of the conference were published. These materials will be available in the library of HSE – Saint Petersburg.
