The Department of Finance was created on the basis of the Department of Financial Markets which was founded in 1998 and is the oldest in the campus. The staff have a broad spectrum of research interests including problems of corporate finance, financial markets and institutions, risk, corporate tax planning, accounting and audits and innovation.

Elena Rogova took part in the XVI European Conference on Knowledge Management, which was held on September 3-4 in Udine, Italy. Her article ‘Development of Corporate Knowledge Management under Conditions of Cyclic Dynamics’ was published in the conference proceedings. Vasilisa Makarova delivered her report on ‘How Do Stakeholders Score for Efficiency of Risk Management in Russia’ during SGEM International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conference on Social Sciences & Arts. Besides that she also prepared two papers, one of which has already been published.
In September 2015 Ivan Kotliarov took part in the VI International Conference on Optimization Methods and Applications OPTIMA-2015 in Petrovac, Montenegro. He spoke on ‘A Mathematical Model of Franchisee Income’.
Svetlana Boguslavskaya prepared the paper ‘Calculation of Social Return on Investment (SROI) Ratio of a Local Ecological Initiative’ that was published in the Journal of Finance and Risk Perspectives.
