VI Eastern Europe and Central Asia AIDS Conference 2018

Senior research fellow Peter Meylakhs participated in the VI Eastern Europe and Central Asia AIDS Conference 2018 as co-chair of the session "HIV-Dissidence".

A brochure on the prevention of HIV-dissidence, which was presented at the session, had been developed on the basis of a study conducted by the research team of the Higher School of Economics under the leadership of P. Meylakhs. The brochure is intended for medical professionals, psychologists, social workers and other professionals working in HIV / AIDS scientific field. In addition, the session discussed relevant issues related to the prevention of HIV-related dissent in the community, such as working with HIV-positive pregnant women, legal issues in regulating content containing HIV-related dissidents, and others.

The conference was held on 18-20th April, 2018 in Moscow with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. More than 3,000 delegates from 63 countries took part in it.Work at the Conference was conducted on four tracks covering the most relevant areas related to HIV infection: Science and Medicine, Assistance to International Development, Effective Prevention and Civil Society.
