Moscow, October 3 rd 2016: CHEMP participates in 3 rd International Conference on Health Technology Assessment
CHEMP was represented at the 3rd International Conference on Health Technology Assessment by Prof. Christopher Gerry and Yuliya Chernenko. This event brought together both international and Russian speakers representing universities, the pharmaceutical sector, the Russian Ministries of Health, Finance and Industry and Trade as well as regional policy makers, including Olga Kazanskaya, the Vice Governor of St. Petersburg. The conference examined and debated the challenges – identified as a priority for Russia – presented by the rapid technological innovation that characterises the medical sector. Topics included the development of Health Technology Assessment in Russia; the funding of healthcare and innovative medical technologies in Russia; pricing regulation of pharmaceuticals; risk-sharing agreements as a possible model of future funding; and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) as a tool for measuring the innovativeness of medical technologies. CHEMP enhanced its network through participation and developed further plans for collaboration with the ‘Center of Healthcare Quality Assessment and Control’ of the Russian Ministry of Health.
