Emerging Markets Finance and Trade

Emerging Markets Finance and Trade publishes research papers on financial and economic aspects of emerging economies. The journal features contributions that are policy oriented and interdisciplinary, employing sound econometric methods, using macro, micro, financial, institutional, and political economy data. Geographical coverage includes emerging market economies of Europe, the Balkans, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Additionally, the journal will publish thematic issues and occasional special issues featuring selected research papers from major conferences worldwide.

Call for Papers

Emerging Markets Finance and Trade will publish selected conference papers as a symposium in a regular issue of the journal under the guest editorship of Professors Marcello Signorelli and Sergei M. Kadochnikov. 

All conference papers dealing with issues related to emerging economies and markets will be considered. The papers will go through the journal’standard review process.Submission isntructions and deadline are given below.

Call for Papers

European Journal of Comparative Economics will publish selected conference papers as a symposium of the journal under the editorship of Professors David M. Kemme and Marcello Signorelli.

Comparative Economic Studies

Comparative Economic Studies is a journal of the Association for Comparative Economic Studies. The Journal is devoted to the study of economic systems, those currently existing as well as systems that have existed in the past or that may exist only in theory. Economic systems consist of economic agents, institutions, incentives, information flows, culture, historical legacies and policies.

Call for papers

Comparative Economic Studies plans to publish a special issue or symposium of selected papers from the Second World Congress. Papers must be submitted by September 10, 2017 on the journal’s web site. In addition to confirming that the paper has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, the cover letter should indicate that the paper is for inclusion in the Second World Congress Special Issue. Authors are strongly encouraged to read the journal’s Scope of Interest statement on the web site and to examine past issues of the journal to verify that their paper is consistent with the publication standards of the journal.

Eastern European Economics

Since its founding in 1962, Eastern European Economics has consistently published the finest research on the economies of Central and Eastern Europe. The journal aims to reflect developments in Central and Eastern European economic thought and policy that are of the most relevance to academic and professional specialists in economics, finance and international relations who have an interest in these countries and in the future of the new Europe. Topics covered by Eastern European Economics include the functioning of East European countries under central planning; reform trends in communist-era economic theory and practice; and, more recently, the ongoing processes of transition to market economics in different countries and their integration into the broader European and global economies.

Review of Industrial Organization


Guest editors: Yannis Katsoulacos, Tom Ross, William Kovacic

A major focus of the journal is competition and monopoly in their many forms and their effects on efficiency, innovation, and social conditions. Topics range from the internal organization of enterprises to international comparisons. The Review has also increased its focus on public policies such as antitrust, regulation, deregulation, public enterprise, and privatization. The Review highlights ideas that can be verified by econometric evidence, case studies, or other real conditions. It also presents papers that advance significant theories of industrial organization and policy.

A special issue with selected papers on the theme of “Competition Policy in Developing Countries” will be published by the Review of Industrial Organization: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11151-016-9561-9 . 

The editors welcome the submission of papers in all areas of competition policy with application to, or focus on, developing countries. 

Specific areas of interest include (but are not limited to):

i. Differences between the appropriate application of competition policy in developing, as opposed to developed, countries.

ii. Studies of the development of competition policy, or of specific competition cases, in particular developing counties that have lessons that extend beyond the studied countries.

iii. The appropriate design of competition policy institutions in developing countries, and challenges associated with current actual designs.

Papers will be selected from:

• Papers relevant to the topic presented to CRESSE 2016 and 2017 Conferences,

• Papers from the World Congress on Comparative Economics to be held in St. Petersburg in June 2017,

• Other papers directly solicited from relevant experts.

Economic Sociology

The Journal of Economic Sociology is aimed at consolidating international standards of studies in economic sociology, presenting new research carried out by Russian and international scholars, introducing new books and research projects, and attracting young scholars into the field.

Call for Papers

The Journal of Economic Sociology plans to publish a symposium of selected papers from the Second World Congress of Comparative Economics. The Journal of Economic Sociologyis a specialized academic journal representing the mainstreams of thinking and research in international and Russian economic sociology. Economic Sociology provides a framework for discussion of the following key issues:  major theoretical paradigms in economic sociology, sociology of markets and organizations, social and economic strategies of households, informal economy. The Journal of Economic Sociologyalso welcomes research papers written within neighboring disciplines — new institutional economics, anthropology, economic psychology and the related fields, which can be of interest to economic sociologists.

Manuscripts should not contain substantial elements of material that has been published or accepted for publication elsewhere. The cover letter should indicate that the paper was presented at the 2nd WCCE. Selected articles will be published within 6 months after their approval.

Post-Communist Economies

Editor: Richard Connolly, Birmingham University

Post-Communist Economies is a refereed journal whose aim is to advance our understanding of the economic institutions, policies and performance of the ex-communist countries. The journal’s focus is primarily on European post-communist economies, including all the countries of the former Soviet Union, but we also consider papers on Mongolia, China and Vietnam. The emphasis is on papers that convey the findings of original research. ‘Think-pieces’ and survey articles, however, are not excluded, provided they are of high quality. The journal’s focus is chiefly on applied economics and political economy but papers that are of a primarily theoretical nature will be considered if the authors demonstrate their relevance to our core themes.
Those themes include reform policies, institutional change and economic performance at micro-, meso- and macro-economic levels; cross-country comparative analysis and international economic relations are also strongly featured in papers published in the journal.
