The course "Project Management" is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles, methodologies, and tools used in managing projects across various industries. Through this course, students will learn how to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects effectively, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.
Learning Objectives
To learn about implementation of project work;
To build knowledge about Agile approach and its popular framework Scrum to project management and develop team-building skills for working in demanding environments;
To develop an understanding of the theoretical foundations and practical aspects of the investments decisions made by the financial managers of a corporation;
To develop an understanding of the practical tools for risk management in projects, including identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies;
To study methods for evaluating project efficiency, including cost-benefit analysis, resource allocation, and performance metrics, to ensure successful project outcomes;
To understand the role of stakeholders in project management and develop communication strategies to ensure alignment and engagement throughout the project lifecycle;
To gain practical skills in using project management software and tools for scheduling, task management, and collaboration in real-world project scenarios.

In-class activity (tasks, cases)
Activities will include both group assignments and individual tasks, encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Group work will focus on simulating real-world project scenarios, fostering teamwork and communication skills, while individual tasks will assess each student's ability to apply theoretical knowledge independently.
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted and encouraged to support learning and task completion. However, any use of AI must be explicitly declared by the student, specifying how it was utilized detailing: 1) The specific AI tool(s) used. 2) The extent of AI assistance (e.g., brainstorming, drafting, editing). 3) How you contributed to the work (e.g., refining ideas, verifying accuracy, adding original content). Failure to declare the use of AI may result in penalties.
Homework
Task is to create a comprehensive risk management plan for a hypothetical or real project. A risk management plan is a tool used to identify, assess, and manage potential risks that could impact a project’s success. Start by identifying at least 8 risks, categorizing them (e.g., technical, financial, organizational), and evaluating their likelihood (low, medium, high) and impact (low, medium, high). Use a risk matrix to prioritize the risks based on their severity. For each risk, propose mitigation strategies to reduce its likelihood or impact, and assign a responsible person or team to manage it. Finally, describe how the risks will be monitored and reviewed throughout the project. The grade will not be rounded up under any circumstances. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as chatbots, text generators, or other AI-based assistance, must be explicitly declared when submitting any assignment. If AI tools were used to complete any part of the assignment, you are required to provide a clear statement at the beginning of your submission detailing: 1) The specific AI tool(s) used. 2) The extent of AI assistance (e.g., brainstorming, drafting, editing). 3) How you contributed to the work (e.g., refining ideas, verifying accuracy, adding original content). Project Plan
To develop a Project Plan by using different tools and techniques that were discussed during the tutorials. The Plan needs to include two interconnected parts: a project file created in the software for project planning and a written Report. The Plan needs to be done individually or in pairs. A project idea can be taken from the list below or suggested by a student himself/herself. The grade will not be rounded up under any circumstances. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as chatbots, text generators, or other AI-based assistance, must be explicitly declared when submitting any assignment. Quiz
The test consists of 15 questions designed to assess students' understanding of key concepts in Project Management. Each question varies in difficulty, ranging from basic to advanced levels. The test includes different types of questions, such as multiple-choice questions, open-ended questions (require detailed written responses), fill-in-the-blank questions (complete the sentence or statement), closed-ended questions (short, specific answers). The test evaluates both theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the student's skills and understanding.
