Welcome to HSE University St Petersburg

Dear partners, colleagues and friends,

Our International Partners Week 2019 will be held on May 20-22, 2019. The registration will be opened till April 1st, 2019.

Concept

International Educators around the globe agree that the mission of a University in XXI century is not limited to produce skilled graduates for labor market. It is now rather about nurturing fast-paced global mindsets capable to adjust to volatile environment, tolerate and embrace diversity and reach out globally. This is what we call Global Citizens. Do we really know how to do it?

HSE University - Saint Petersburg invites its partners and friends to share experience and ideas about the Global Citizens concept and its implementation in institutional strategies and daily operations.

In 2019, our International Partners Week will give floor to professional topic-related case studies and enriching informal discussions. It is also designed to provide extensive opportunities for networking and rich cultural experience.

Senior International Officers, International Student Mobility and International Partnerships Coordinators as well as International Educators would find our event beneficial at the most. However, participation is not limited to any professional role within university.

We are looking forward to welcoming our colleagues and friends in Saint Petersburg!

Practical Information

International Partners Week will take place at HSE University St Petersburg on May 20-22, 2019. It is the beginning of the so-called ‘White Nights’, heralding the arrival of summer. This is the best time to experience the city, Russian culture and Russian traditions.

Participants are invited to arrive on Sunday, May 19 or on Monday, May 20.

St Petersburg is easy to reach by plane — most destinations offer flights to Pulkovo Airport (LED), either direct or with a connection in Moscow. Alternatively, the high- speed train ‘Sapsan’ (4-hour trip) is also available for those guests wishing to travel to St Petersburg from Moscow.

Please remember that you may need a visa to enter Russia. See the ‘Visa’ section for further information.

We will reserve accommodation in several downtown hotels and negotiate the best prices for IPW participants. Accommodation options will be communicated to registered participants via email.

There is no participation fee. All transfers, coffee breaks, meals and cultural events within the IPW programme are covered by HSE.

We kindly ask our partners and friends to register before April 1st, 2019.

Visa

Please remember that you may need a visa to enter Russia. If you do, please indicate this in your registration form.

HSE University St Petersburg will issue official invitation letters for ‘humanitarian visas’ and provide assistance to IPW participants requiring Russian visas. Please note: this invitation is not a visa. It does not give the holder permission to enter Russia. It is a document necessary for the visa application. A ‘humanitarian visa’ is usually issued free of charge.

You can find out what your visa requirements are by going to the website of the Russian Embassy or Consulate in your home country, see this website.

It usually takes up to 30 days to issue and send out a visa invitation letter, and up to 10 days for a visa to be issued from the date of visa application.
