This programme is for you those who:
- Interested in literature, but afraid of a narrow philological profile;
- Strive to join the philological knowledge included in a wide humanitarian cycle;
- Want to choose between an academic career and practical work in the cultural industries market.
Our programme while concentrating on the disciplinary field of philology, presupposes its significant expansion into related fields of humanitarian knowledge. The philological core, which includes the skills and competencies of research, literary criticism, teaching, publishing, translation and project (cultural management) activities, is the basis for developing skills and knowledge in the broader field of culture and its medial infrastructure. As a result, the ability to analyze, comment, teach, translate, popularize texts belonging to different genres of literary and academic writing should be combined with well-developed ideas about how the sphere of cultural production as a whole functions, what is its medial nature, how it is possible translation from the language of literature into the language of theater and cinema, from the verbal language to the visual language and vice versa, from the classical language of organizing knowledge into the language of digital platforms and Big data.
Assuming a strong academic focus, the programme includes a significant cycle of practice-oriented courses and seminars. This combination should not only make our graduates more competitive in the labor market or further education. Thanks to it, academic knowledge and research interests are rooted in the practice of their direct application, and practice-oriented skills acquire a historical and cultural context.
