The Department of Public and Cultural Development in Asia and Africa is an interdisciplinary body, uniting specialists in history, philosophy, religious studies, sociology, art history, and cultural studies of eastern countries. In addition to regional specialisation, the department provides theoretical and methodological training in one of three subject areas: sociology; philosophy, religious studies, and social thought; cultural studies and art history. This approach allows students to not only strengthen traditional specialisations in Asian and African studies, such as history and philology, but also significantly enhance them with new integrations. This aids in maintaining an interdisciplinary approach when developing courses and creates a relevant understanding of global cultural constants in Asian and African countries. The department offers professional training through a multi-module system: undergraduate and graduate programmes.
