Meeting with the Delegation of the Center for International Studies, Inha University (Republic of Korea)

On 21 October 2025, a working meeting was held in St Petersburg between representatives of the Institute for Oriental and African Studies and a delegation from Inha University, Republic of Korea.

Inha University was represented by Professor Sung DongKi, Deputy Director of the Center for International Studies (CIS).

During the discussion, the participants addressed opportunities for expanding academic and research cooperation between the two institutions. Professor Son presented the activities of the Center, which has carried out active research in the field of international relations since its establishment in 1985. Special attention was given to projects implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Academy of Korean Studies of the Republic of Korea.

Professor Son also introduced the staff of the Institute to the work of the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center, whose primary mission is to promote the development of Korean Studies worldwide.

In turn, representatives of the Institute and the Department of Korean Studies highlighted the strong potential for future collaboration. Following the meeting, both sides agreed to continue the dialogue and explore possible formats of cooperation.

The visit of the Korean delegation concluded with a traditional tour of the HSE University – St. Petersburg building on the Griboedov Canal Embankment.
