Spring School "Latin Paleography" (2019)

On the third of April the spring school of Latin paleography took place. The event was organized by the Scientific and Educational Group, so that all interested students could refresh and hone their skills in Latin paleography. The school's curator, Evgeny Khvalkov, prepared a vivid presentation to familiarize participants with the theory and key terms in paleography. In addition, within the framework of the spring school, students were able to translate texts written in both muscular and minuscule writing. Evgeny Khvalkov decided to conduct the practice of reading in chronological order. Students learned to find and understand basic contractions and work with ligatures in texts. The school participants also managed to transcribe notarial acts with which the members of the research and teaching group are currently working.
