International Activity

The Head of the Department of Mathematics is convinced that HSE students can cope with serious international training courses and so the best students have the chance to join programmes like the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, International student management school, Professional manager and others. Many of the instructors at the school are recognized as international leading academics. For example, Professor Y. Y. Nikitin was made a fellow of the USA’s Institute of Mathematical Statistics in 2002 (whose members are the 200 top specialists in the world and just three of them are Russians) and worked as an international expert at the Finnish Academy of Sciences in 2006.

Professor A. D. Baranov was a post-doc at the Royal Technological University (KTH in Stockholm, Sweden) and visiting professor at the universities of Aix-Marseilles, Paris-Est and Marne-la-Vallee (France).

Associate Professor S. N. Koltsov, research consultant for Scientific Instruments Services Inc. and developer of the famous programme provider Virtual Device, represents the International Activity of the Department.
