Lecture by Andrei Alexandru "Byzantine scholars in Italy of the Renaissance period"

On March 14, Andrei Alexandru’s lecture "Byzantine Scholars in Italy of the Renaissance Period" was held in the building at Promyshlennaya Street 17


On March 14, at 15:20, a lecture by Andrei Alexandru, a student at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, was held in the framework of the research group. The lecture was attended by members of the research and teaching group, project leader Khvalkov Evgeny Alexandrovich.

Andrei Alexandru began his report with a discussion of the role of Hemist Pliffon in the Palaeologica Renaissance, as well as the socio-economic situation that took place in the Byzantine Empire in the XIV-XV centuries. Further, the report was devoted to the Byzantine influence on the formation of the Italian Renaissance and the cultural exchange between the world of Western and Eastern Christianity in which this influence was exercised.
