eSports seminar by the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy

On 18th of September the eSports seminar, organized by the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy from the HSE Campus in Perm. Researchers from the Laboratory and participants of our Research Group presented their works in the field of cybersport.

The International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy works in the field of intellectual capital and empirical finance. eSport became a common topic for the Laboratory and our Research Group. The seminar was opened by the leading researcher fellow of the laboratory Coates Dennis. He presented the work about the team diversity and their performance in eSports (together with Petr Parshakov and Marina Zavertyaeva). Further, Ilya Musabirov (participant of our Research Group) told about the value construction for cosmetic virtual goods. This research was carried together with Pavel Okopny and Denis Bulygin and this is one of the main research trends of Machine Learning and Social Computing Research Group. Colleagues from Perm also paid attention to topics, which are more close to economics, for example, Iuliia Naydenova, with Petr Parshakov and Barajas Angel, told about the benefits of the organizers of online tournaments. And Petr Parshakov presented the work on the importance of the team coach in the e-sports. Ksenia Konstantinova together with colleagues presented the results of the research based on the analysis of the massive communication during eSports streaming events. Since the beginning of her research, Ksenia has made a significant progress in it.
Participants of the seminar were interested in our researches. Everyone tried to give each other advice on improving and developing research. The potential cooperation in the future and exchange of experience were also discussed.
