Labor market: the analysis of IT-specialists and freelance projects

On the 27 of May another seminar of the Research Group "Machine Learning and Social Computing" was held. Anastasia Nesterenko and Ivan Mishalkin told about their scientific projects.

Anastasia Nesterenko, led by Ilya Musabirov, presented a project on the technological stratification of the IT market. She analyzed the labor market of IT professionals, namely the supply-demand relationship. She also managed to build a stratification of technological communities in terms of the degree of demand and professional orientation. On the data of HeadHunter she told about what skills are required and what salary experts can claim and on what it depends. In addition, she paid attention to the possible migration of specialists: when vacancies indicate relocation.
Ivan Mishalkin presented his study of freelance projects based on fl.ru data. He tested 2 algorithms (slda, stm) supervised learning to determine the success of a freelance project. STM showed better results. Ivan also identified topics that positively and negatively affect the number of responses.

The presented scientific works, that were made by Ivan and Anastasia, were very useful because the topics cannot leave uninterested. I am a student of the 1st course, so for me, it was an opportunity to see how research is conducted and what methods and knowledge are needed to write successful scientific work. To my mind, the researches conducted by Anastasia and Ivan can become a trajectory and a prospect for further researches in the field of marketing. During their performances, I realized how important it is to apply sociological knowledge to the scientific works using the knowledge of the Internet sphere. I hope that in the future I will conduct the significant research such as Ivan's and Anastasia's ones.
