St. Petersburg School of Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science

About the School

The St. Petersburg School of Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science is the youngest faculty of HSE University in St. Petersburg. The school trains programmers and specialists in data analysis and machine learning, practical programming, theoretical computer science, bioinformatics, and programming languages.

The school boasts a staff of 40 professors, lecturers and researchers, and it has a current enrollment of 90 undergraduate and 40 graduate students. The faculty houses two departments, a joint department and a research centre.

Tech experts working in the industry, researchers, young developers and scholars, as well as international programming championship winners (ACM, TopCoder, etc.), regularly deliver lectures at the faculty. Representatives of large companies, such as JetBrains, Yandex, and Acronis, which are main potential employers for programme graduates, participate in faculty workshops and seminars, organize project work and host internships as part of a cooperation programme with the school.
