Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course “The Phenomenon of the Chinese Economy in the Age of Globalization” examines the process of integration of the Chinese economy into the world economy. The task of the discipline is to form a clear idea of the place of the Chinese Economy in the world globalization processes. The historical periods of the formation of the Chinese Economic Model are given, as well as the prospects for the development of the PRC. The study of the discipline is aimed at identifying the influence of China in changing the structure of the World Economy in terms of Production, Trade, Resource extraction, Investment and increasing the role in the World Institutions. Transnational corporations of the PRC are considered separately in the context of their impact on the World Economy. The relationship between Chinese government agencies and corporations in the process of development and building strategies for entering world markets is assessed. During the seminars, students will be able to establish and evaluate the influence of the Chinese economy on the regional markets of different countries.

  • Block III. China's integration into the Local Economy. Influence of Globalization Processes on Modern Regional Development of China.
  • Seminars: China's Economic policy in International Markets and the impact on The Regional Economy.

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking The Test
    The Test is written at the end of the Block 2 of the study of the discipline. The Test run in SmartLMS consisting of 15 questions. The Test time: 20 minutes.
  • non-blocking Oral Presentation
    Oral presentation at seminars on a chosen topic. The speech takes place in English and is written in the process of studying chapter 2. Max time of the speech: 20 minutes.
  • non-blocking Active work at seminars
    During the seminars, students receive additional points for participating in the discussion of the topic, asking questions to speakers after the Oral Presentations, expressing their own opinions related to the discussed topic in the seminar.
  • non-blocking The Exam
    The Exam is a Test in SmartLMS, consisting of 40 questions of different formats. Test is written at the end of the last lesson of the course. The response time is 60 minutes.
