Financial Aid Available to Students
Applications for financial aid for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year will be accepted from November 7-21, 2024.
HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
To apply for financial aid, international students should submit the following to the Department of social work:
- an application;
- your identity document (all copy of pages from your passport);
- documents with a notarized translation serving as evidence of your eligibility for financial aid (see the Table).
if financial aid is requested in monetary form, the local currency shall be converted into the national currency of the Russian Federation (rubles) at the exchange rate set at the date for funds transfer.
Before submitting the full package of documents to 344 office (Kantemirovskaya Street, 3), it is necessary to send scans of the documents as a combined PDF file for preliminary review and approval to the postal address spbcsss@hse.ru
Attached to the application should be a copy of your passport!

– paper confirming the composition of student’s family from local utilities office, SPB multifunctional centre, housing co-op, or local housing office; – papers on earnings over the last six months of all members from learner’s family who reside with him/her: parents, adult siblings (or a certificate confirming their full-time studies at an academic institution); – copies of documents confirming treatment, accident and costs incurred in relation thereof (treatment agreement, receipts for medications etc.); the timeframe for submitting documents: no more than six months from the date when such circumstances occurred; |

International students are entitled to receive financial help for the reasons specified above if the documents confirming thereof are submitted with a notarized certification of their translation.
If the reason for the allocation of financial help is student’s low income, he/she must provide a translated certificate confirming his/her earnings with all sums converted into Russian roubles at an official rate as at the date of conversion; this translated certificate with an indication of sums in roubles needs to be certified by the organization which issued it.
