The conference is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Centre for Youth Studies.

Global and local challenges have become part of our everyday life in recent years. The world is changing rapidly, instability is growing, institutions are being transformed, and people are looking for ways and tools to adjust to a new social reality and raise the resilience.

The main questions for the discussion will be: How do young people live today? What do they think about what is happening? Where do they find resources and opportunities to maintain their own resilience in an unstable environment? What barriers do they face? How could they overcome them? Young people today are important actors of social interactions and changes, a subject actively and independently acting, creating, challenging and changing social reality. We strive to move away from a paternalistic view of youth that need to be educated, controlled, and saved. At the same time, we admit the importance of the structures that shape conditions and provide opportunities for young people’s action in our new global era.

We invite you to join us in our discussion to better understand what young people can offer in response to the challenges we are all facing today.
