Joined seminar of members of scientific-study group and A. Kaplunonvskiy

At this seminar professor of Johann Gutenberg University, and editor of Ab Imperio journal A. Kaplunovskii presented his research on the topic “Places of collection of imperial law: commission of lawmaking 1804-1829”.

His presentation was dedicated to the history of codification and systematization of law in Russian Empire. In Russian historiography the crucial role in this process was given to Speranskii. Nevertheless one moment remained obscure – the work of commission of lawmaking 1804-1826. And this presentation was focused on the work of this organization. Apart from brief review on the historiography of the given period, a lot of attention was paid to the biographies of the lawyers-codificators, because they were the creators of meanings and engineers of imperial law in the context of reforms and communications in Russia in the beginning of XIX century.

The members of scientific-study group actively participated at the discussion around this presentation.
