Vectorization

On Thursday, February 26, the fourth meeting of scientific-study group was held.

The main subject of this meeting was vectorization. The head of the project Ivan Sablin, talked about two types of graphics: raster and vector. Attention was paid to the last one. Programs of vector graphics contain information about objects, image of which is created with graphical primitives (lines, curves, squares). Vector graphics is needed for creation of esthetic maps and calculations.  Theoretical knowledge was practiced. Ivan Sablin showed how to use vector graphic on the example of a map of Russian Empire. Moreover, some organizational problems were solved. So, Maria Zimina, Oleg Kudinov, Tatiana Sirota will search for material in terms of a project about the study block of HSE on Vasilevskiy Island.

The next meeting will be held on 19 of March.
