Also, From August 2023 Russia allows citizens of over 55 countries to apply for a Russian visa online (eVisa). Applicants will only need a reliable internet connection in order to complete the application from the comfort of their home. For most countries included in this program, their citizens can get eVisa for a maximum stay of 14 days. It is valid for 60 days from the date of being issued to the traveler.
Participants, who are not eligible to visit Russia w/o visa or get eVisa online, will have to apply for a tourist or Humanitarian Visa with scientific-technical purpose.
We strongly advise you to apply for a tourist visa, which does not require our official invitation letters. It simplifies the application in many cases. In order to apply for a tourist visa, each participant just needs to ask the hotel, where his/her accommodation is booked, to issue him/her a special touristic voucher (also sometimes called "Visa Support"), which is not the usual booking confirmation. Please, note that you must explicitly request such a voucher from the hotel and it will not be given to you by default. To avoid uncertainty, participants are advised to apply for a visa as early as possible. In general, it is recommended that they apply for a Russian visa at least 6 weeks in advance.
Alternatively, you can get a Humanitarian Visa with scientific-technical purpose. The organizers are able to provide official invitation letters for already registered conference participants. The time needed for issuing such letters does not exceed 30 days.
