Also, the Joint Department staff members teach several ongoing courses (including Minors) and create online courses in anthropology and museum studies in collaboration with the Kustkamera’s leading researchers (HSE University MOOCs on Coursera platform).

For instance, an online study course on Peoples of the World Ethnography is currently being developed.

The Joint Department offers the following study modules to be included within ongoing academic disciplines:

  • Modern Anthropology and Practical Ethnology,
  • World’s Peoples and Cultures (the module could be transformed into an online study course)
  • Museum and Ethnic Exhibition.

For master’s students the Department offers two specific study modules in English (in lectures and project activities): Anthropology of Movement, The Qur’anic ethnography and The Material Culture of the Qur’an.

The faculty of the Joint Department also are also involved in student projects (for BA in History and international Master’s in Global and Regional History (former Applied and Interdisciplinary History). Projects range from working with new exhibitions at the Kunstkamera, crafting and delivering guided tours, and doing visual media and field projects.
