The Joint Department offers specialized courses that include lectures, seminars, and other relevant activities (such as field research, organising exhibitions, delivering guided tours, photo and video workshops, etc). Some courses are offered online.
Also, the Joint Department staff members teach several ongoing courses (including Minors) and create online courses in anthropology and museum studies in collaboration with the Kustkamera’s leading researchers (HSE University MOOCs on Coursera platform).
For instance, an online study course on Peoples of the World Ethnography is currently being developed.
The Joint Department offers the following study modules to be included within ongoing academic disciplines:
For master’s students the Department offers two specific study modules in English (in lectures and project activities): Anthropology of Movement, The Qur’anic ethnography and The Material Culture of the Qur’an.
The faculty of the Joint Department also are also involved in student projects (for BA in History and international Master’s in Global and Regional History (former Applied and Interdisciplinary History). Projects range from working with new exhibitions at the Kunstkamera, crafting and delivering guided tours, and doing visual media and field projects.
